He graduated to professional competition in 2010, and quickly dominated the junior single-seater scene, claiming titles in F4 Eurocup 1.6 and Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0.
In 2013, Stoffel joined McLaren’s prestigious Formula One Young Driver Program and after finishing as the runner-up Formula Renault 3.5, stepped up to GP2 Series for 2014 to race on the F1 support bill.
After winning on debut, Stoffel staged an impressive debut campaign against seasoned competition and, in equal machinery, dominated GP2 in 2015, beating his next closest competitor to the championship by an unprecedented 160 points.
Stoffel’s services were called upon by McLaren in F1 in 2016, and after scoring points in his very first Grand Prix, the Belgian enjoyed a two-season stint with the team before joining the Formula E grid for Season 5.
Over the past six seasons, Stoffel has forged a reputation as one of the fully electric series’ elite competitors, and after claiming his first podium in only his seventh start, has gone on to appear inside the top three on 16 occasions.
In 2022, Stoffel reached the height of his professional career by becoming Formula E’s Season 8 World Champion, and after a successful stint in the series’ Gen3 era, will aim for further success with Maserati MSG Racing in Season 11.
