2022 Berlin E-Prix in Numbers

The 2022 BerlinE-Prix was a landmark event for ROKiT Venturi Racing and for an eighth season in succession, the FIA Formula E World Championship returned to the German capital.

By hosting another double-header event, the series’ most raced in city continued to extend its race count record and a total of 16 E-Prix have now been held in Berlin.

When action got underway on Saturday, Edoardo Mortara showed his hand early and displayed outright pace from the outset to advance to the duel stages of qualifying.

First defeating André Lotterer and then Antonio Felix daCosta, our Swiss-Italian driver made it to the Final for the third time in Season 8 to face Alexander Sims.

With a storming final sector, Edo defeated the Mahindra driver to score a landmark maiden pole position to become Formula E’s 2and newest polesitter on what washis 54 time of trying.

Crucially, this marked our first pole position as a team since the 2015 London E-Prix in Season 1 and ended a pole position drought of 2,512 days.

When the seventh race of 2022 got underway, Edo maintained his lead into Turn One and was ultimately unbeatable, leading 37 of 40 laps en route to his second victory of the season, the fourth of his career and ROKiT Venturi Racing’s fifth win as a team.

After starting from 13 on thegrid, Lucas di Grassi also made strong progress in the face of a slow puncture caused by contact withOliver Rowland on the opening lap of Race One.

The Brazilian ran as high as eighth and posted the fastest lap before the tyre’s pressure deteriorated. This marked the 11fastest lap of Lucas’ career to date and his third of thesason so far.

Despite switching to the clockwise configuration of Tempelhof on Sunday, our form as a team continued, with Edo and Lucas topping both practice sessions ahead of qualifying.

In the classification session, Edo carried his momentum forward and again fought his way into the pole position shootout to defeat Robin Frijns at the final stage.

By taking pole position for a second time in two days – with the team previously waiting six years, 10 months and 16 days – Edo became only the eighth driver in Formula E history to achieve back-to-back pole positions.

Lining up on the front row for a fourth time in 2022 – more than any other driver this season – Edo slipped to second when the race got underway, with Nyck de Vries diving past into Turn One.

Although he fought hard to close the gap, the Mercedes-EQ driver was just out of reach but by taking home second, Edo scored his 10 podium in Formula E and theteam’s 15 while also scoring the 300point of his career.

After qualifying sixth, Lucas fought gallantly throughout the race to run in third but was unfortunately pipped to the podium only three minutes from the chequered flag.

Critically, Lucas’ 12 points from fourth marked a crucial haul for ROKiT Venturi Racing, with the team tipping over the 650 point margin to have now amassed 658 points since Season 1.

A combined total of 62 points from both races makes the 2022 Berlin E-Prix ROKiT Venturi Racing’s most successful weekend in Formula E while, by scoring a total of 148 points so far this season, the team has outscored its 2021 haul in only eight races.

A total of 325 laps were completed in Berlin on the path to this achievement, with the team driving a combined 765 kilometres using fully-electric power.

This brings our distance for Season 8 so far up to 3,040 kilometres – the equivalent of driving from our Monaco headquarters to Berlin three times.

With Season 8 resting at its half-way point, we’re counting down the days until the inaugural Jakarta E-Prix on June 4.
