“We’re ready and looking forward to kicking the season off this weekend in Diriyah. Not only do we have a very experienced driver lineup but we also have a very successful pairing. Edo, now in his fifth season with the team, is the current vice World Champion and Lucas won the Drivers’ title in Season 3. Both are working well together and, with some further new additions to the team, we believe we’re in great shape for the start of the season.
“For us the goal remains progression. Last season we finished second in the Drivers’ Championship with Edo and seventh in the Teams’ Championship - we want to better that in 2022. The margins between first and fifth in Formula E are so fine, we will focus on each race as it comes, aiming to be the best we can, and we’ll see where that leaves us at the end of the season.”
“I’m really looking forward to getting Season 8 underway this weekend. Our performance in testing was very promising and I felt very comfortable and confident in the car in Valencia. Combining this with the pace that we showed in Season 7, I think we are in an encouraging position.
“Diriyah is a very technical track but it’s a challenge that I enjoy. Last season we were fortunate to stand on the podium and this year for sure I want to emulate that result - we’ll try our best to start the season in the right way. Consistency will be crucial in 2022.”
“I have settled in very well with the team - we share very similar values and the same work ethic and this has allowed us to develop the car well ahead of Diriyah. I believe we have taken a big step forward in comparison to our performance from pre-season testing.
“For Season 8 I have a steep learning curve ahead of me but together, I think we are in a good position to fight for both the Drivers’ and Teams’ World Championships. Edo and I make a good team and I think we will both push each other and motivate one another to perform at our best. Racing with the new regulations will be interesting this weekend and I want to perform consistently as soon as we get going in Diriyah. If at the end of the year we can win one or even both titles, it would be a fantastic achievement and it’s a goal that I think we can realistically aim for.”
