“Berlin is very familiar territory for everyone in Formula E, and after three consecutive races on new circuits, competing on a track we know well should bring a degree of consistency. The team has enjoyed a successful past here and has been on the podium in Berlin’s past four races. Although Season 9 has brought its challenges so far, everyone in the team is in in good spirits and after a positive preparation period, we’re confident that we can achieve a strong team result this weekend. Our focus remains on working together to make the most of opportunities available to us and minimising the mistakes.”
Edoardo Mortara, Driver, Maserati MSG Racing
“Berlin is a circuit that I enjoy and last season, we came very close to delivering the perfect weekend by nearly winning both races after starting from pole position. As we know in motorsport, past results don’t guarantee success, however, so we need to treat this weekend like every other weekend and take a measured approach through practice and into qualifying. Because every team has so much knowledge of this circuit, I’m expecting the field to be very closely grouped and with the margins so fine, it’ll be important to deliver a mistake-free weekend.”
Maximilian Günther, Driver, Maserati MSG Racing
“As my home race, Berlin holds a very special place in my heart, and I’m excited to race in front of my home crowd. I had the honour of winning here in 2020, and while it’s one of the proudest moments of my career, it was during the pandemic, without fans in the grandstands. We’re expecting a big crowd this weekend, so I can’t wait to go out there and perform a great weekend together with the team.“
Giovanni Sgro, Head of Maserati Corse
“It's exciting to see the Formula E races come to Europe as we get ready for a double header in Berlin. We have been circling the globe with this electrifying series and it's always an emotional experience to see our two drivers compete in a challenging motorsport championship such as this one. The team's preparation and resilience is always inspiring and we look forward to a strong weekend”.
