James Rossiter, Team Principal, Maserati MSG Racing
“There’s no denying that this season hasn’t started in the way that we hoped, but with hard work behind the scenes, we’ve been able to take some positive steps so far. Our work to optimise and refine our technical package continued immediately after Diriyah and we’re well prepared for Hyderabad. This weekend’s race marks the start of one of, if not the most, challenging periods on the calendar, in which we visit three brand new host cities, all of which are long-haul. This will make for a steep learning curve, but since every team is effectively starting from zero at each track, the playing field should be levelled. Season 9 is a marathon, not a sprint, and we need to maintain our current approach, stay focussed and believe that the results will come.”
Edoardo Mortara, Driver, Maserati MSG Racing
“Hyderabad is one of the races that I’m most looking forward to this season, and after spending some time in the simulator, it’s a really interesting circuit to drive. Like other races this season, I expect qualifying to be very important, but the heavy braking zones in Turns One and Three should promote a lot of overtaking. Because the circuit is new, it will be very important to maximise our available track time in practice, and I think that whichever team is able to adapt and evolve the fastest will be the one to beat.”
Maximilian Günther, Driver, Maserati MSG Racing
“India will be an incredible setting for a Formula E race, and I’m very excited to race in Hyderabad for the first time this weekend. From my time in the simulator, the track looks and feels awesome, and I can’t wait to drive it in real life. With three new races back-to-back, we’re entering one of the most intense points of the Season 9 calendar, but I think the upcoming set of races offer a good opportunity to build some momentum. We’re a strong team, and in the way we’re working, I know that we’re close to achieving a good result.”
Giovanni Tommaso Sgro, Head of Maserati Corse
“Maserati is back in racing and to be able to compete on a new circuit in Formula E is incredibly exciting. It leaves us with the opportunity to make our mark and show what we stand for, showcasing the future of electric mobility on the world stage. We can’t wait to embrace our fans as we head to Hyderabad, near the Secretariat and Hussain Sagar Lake, and see Maserati MSG Racing performing out on track.”
