In Their Words

Maximilian Günther, Driver, Maserati MSG Racing

“It’s always great to be racing in the US. Portland is going to be a weekend with plenty of action. The track is really fast and flowing, we achieve the highest top speed of the season. A great challenge in Qualifiyng and super strategic in the race with the high influence of the slipstream. Our preparation during this long break has been strong and we arrive to Portland with a good feeling, ready to execute at our best.“

Jehan Daruvala, Driver, Maserati MSG Racing

“I’m really looking forward to racing in Portland, especially after a very break from racing following an intense run of races recently. When I came into this season, I was aware that I would be starting on the back foot as the only rookie on the grid, but session-by-session and race-by-race, I’ve learned about the nuances of Formula E, refined my pace, and optimised my knowledge. As the penultimate race weekend of the season, and after a positive and thorough preparation, I’m hoping that the result of all of our hard work will be clear in Portland. I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel.”

Cyril Blais, Deputy Team Principal, Maserati MSG Racing

“The run of races from São Paulo to Shanghai was intense, but after taking some time to reset, we’re ready to tackle this weekend’s double-header. As the penultimate race of the season, Portland represents one of our final opportunities to score points, and with Max close to the top five in the Drivers’ Championship, and the team close to McLaren in the Teams’ Championship, we have everything to play for. Because of the high levels of energy sensitivity, Portland is set to see the return of peloton-style racing meaning that once more, almost anything can happen. We just need to maximise every opportunity, keep it clean, and be in the right place at the right time when it truly matters.”

Giovanni Sgro, Head of Maserati Corse

“The final rush of Season 10 is here. The last two rounds will be double headers and the entire team is focused on the best possible preparation to get us every point. The last few races have been challenging but have given us great opportunities to understand the car's performance on different tracks; Max and Jehan are eager to end the season with good results in order to climb the rankings and finish the season in a strong place. There is still room for improvement and to give our fans an exciting racing experience . We love racing here, Portland has a strong motorsport fan base and this circuit hosts some of the most competitive series, while the American market is also very important for Maserati. This circuit has a history of providing some close battles and it has a record number of overtakes in Formula E Season 9: we are looking forward to a great show”.
