After the deserts of Diriyah and the winding roads of Rome, Valencia marks the next stop on the Season 7 calendar as we return to Spain for the first time since November.
Featuring Europe’s largest market and the busiest port on the Mediterranean, Valencia is the third-largest city in Spain and holds a history spanning over 2,000 years.
The city’s origins can be traced back to a Roman colony in 138BC, but in 2021, we will be racing in the area for the very first time in what is a key moment for Formula E.
Situated 21-kilometres to the west of the historic city centre, the Circuit Ricardo Tormo is our home for the coming weekend and the location for the next two races in the current campaign.
Valencia may be a new addition to the current calendar, but it is by no means an unfamiliar location to all of us here at ROKiT Venturi Racing.
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo has been the home of Formula E pre-season testing since Season 4 and has played a central role in the refinement of our current Gen2 car technology.
Since 2017, as a team, we have completed 1,318 laps of the circuit which equates to 3,861.464-kilometres – only 28-kilometres shy of our total distance from the whole of Season 6.
In short, we’re not shy of experience, and with data banked and experience at hand, we’re in the best position possible heading into this weekend.
The 2021 Valencia E-Prix is not only a landmark moment for the city but also for Spain as Formula E races in the country for the very first time.
By holding Rounds 5 and 6 of Season 7, Spain will become the 19th country that Formula E has raced in since its inception and the championship’s newest host nation.
With two races taking place this weekend, double the points are on offer, and as such, we’ll be aiming to ROKiT at every available opportunity.
As a championship, Formula E is founded upon purpose, and as such, we race towards a clean, brighter, and better future every time we take to the track.
This weekend is no different, but on April 22, we’ll be celebrating the world around us as we place sustainability at our core more than ever before.
On Earth Day, we’ll be doing our part to protect the world around us by promoting sustainability and encouraging a sustainable lifestyle.
