When Formula E: Accelerate got underway at the end of January, our start to the esports series was a dominant one and Erhan Jajovski hit the ground running immediately.
Two pole positions in the opening two events yielded a high points haul, and by leading every lap in Rounds 1 and 2, the Macedonian esports star laid his cards on the table from the outset.
A third win [in the same controlled fashion as the others] meant that Erhan led 50% of all of Accelerate’s racing laps – an impressive record and statistic.
Taking home 131 points from six races, we’re proud of our Macedonian esports ace and Formula E: Accelerate’s Vice-Champion.
After a challenging start to Formula E: Accelerate, Lorenz Hoerzing bounced back with intent as the esports series approached its second half in March.
With qualifying pace that improved on a round-by-round basis, the 19-year-old Austrian set himself on an upward trajectory, proving himself to be a true one-lap specialist.
In the penultimate round of the season at Electric Docks, Lorenz memorably gained four positions in one single turn and battled all the way to the flag, falling just shy of the podium.
A paramedic by day and digital racer by night, this rising esports star showed just what he was capable of and played a crucial role throughout our season.
In the first of two driver challenges, Norman Nato showed just what consistency and a clear, focused approach to esports can do.
After starting from the very back of the pack, the 27-year-old Frenchman didn’t back down and with a storming first lap, moved all the way up to P3.
Maintaining the final step of the podium in what was a hard-fought race, Norman extended our points tally by 15 points as one of Accelerate’s biggest movers.
In the second leg of the driver challenge, Edoardo Mortara was in the digital cockpit and from fourth on the grid, had set his eyes on the prize.
A great getaway allowed Edo to move into P2 from the outset, and by overtaking Race at Home Challenge champion Stoffel Vandoorne, the Swiss-Italian soon took the lead.
By focusing on the road ahead, Edo took a dominant esports victory, finishing over 11-seconds ahead of Robin Frijns, Pascal Wehrlein and Vandoorne.
In Accelerate’s Grand Final, fortune favoured ROKiT Venturi Racing and with double points on offer, Monaco’s only racing team was hunting for the top spot.
After taking the lead of the Teams’ Standings in the penultimate round of the season, we fended off Dragon Penske Autosport and BMW i Andretti to take the top honours.
Winning by 36 points, we’re proud to call ourselves the inaugural champions of Formula E: Accelerate following what has been a true team effort all season.
