In the run-up to the Diriyah E-Prix, we were delighted to announce a new title partnership with ROKiT – the pioneering telco brand joining forces with us for the next three years.
A match made in heaven, we were proud to make ROKiT’s first weekend in Formula E one to remember, with a pair of thrilling races at the Riyadh Street Circuit.
We can’t wait to see what this exciting collaboration holds as the season progresses!
Now in his third season with the team, Edo has truly refined his craft in electric motorsport.
In the first qualifying session of the weekend, the Swiss-Italian star showcased impressive pace to land a spot in the Super Pole shootout – cementing P4 on the grid after missing out on his maiden pole position by just half a second.
The third Super Pole appearance of his Formula E career to date, we’re confident this won’t be the last in 2020 for Edo on the evidence of his form in Diriyah!
One of the most established names in motorsport today, Felipe Massa might be a veteran of the world’s racetracks – but the Brazilian is certainly showing no signs of slowing down!
Felipe showcased lightning reactions and pinpoint precision in Diriyah, gaining an impressive six positions on the first lap alone across the opening two races of Season 6!
After showing encouraging pace in Diriyah, the team left Saudi Arabia with a solid haul of points.
With Edo securing P7 in Race 1 before going three better to take P4 in Race 2, we concluded 2019 with 18 points in the bank to build a solid tally straight out of the box this season.
This marks our second-best start to a Formula E campaign to date, with the Season 4 double-header in Hong Kong only bettering this score from the first two races of a campaign.
Edo’s points-scoring streak in Diriyah was of particular note, as the Swiss-Italian star secured his own piece of Venturi history.
Taking P4 in Race 2, Edo registered his 99th point in Formula E – all of which have been scored with Venturi.
This makes him our most successful driver to date – not only holding the most wins and podiums for the team, but now also the most points, surpassing Stéphane Sarrazin’s previous record of 94.
It’s official – Edoardo Mortara is a Venturi legend!
