In Detail

Kick-starting Formula E’s Race at Home Challenge with points on the board, the digital racing series returned for the second round of its nine-event competition, racing on the 3.2km-long Electric Docks Circuit.

On this high-speed fictitious venue – built for speed with 18 unique corners – qualifying continued to be key due to the ever-present threat of elimination, as per the series’ high-stakes ‘Race Royale’ format.

From the second and third groups of qualifying, Felipe Massa and Edoardo Mortara launched their bid for pole position, with the pair securing P13 and P10 on the grid for the 15-lap affair ahead.

In a chaotic start which saw accidents and spins throughout the grid, Felipe and Edo dropped to P19 and P20 on the opening lap, however, fought forward in an attempt to avoid elimination and battle for points.

Gaining four places in quick succession, Felipe soon advanced to P15, however, retired from the second race of the season after an accident in Turn 1, taking P20 in the final standings.

Avoiding the accident ahead, Edo meanwhile continued to advance through the field, making up nine positions to battle for a place inside the top 10, duelling with Jaguar Racing’s James Calado.

Collecting the wall in the face of an accident for Sebastien Buemi, Edo too picked up terminal damage and failed to see the chequered flag, taking P16 to conclude a difficult day of competition.

In preparation for his Race at Home Challenge debut on the Challenge Grid, Norman Nato also put in some time on the digital track, representing ROKiT Venturi Racing in The Race All-Star Series.

Qualifying P21 for the first Pro Cup race of the weekend, Norman fought forward to take P16 and as such, lined up in P18 for the Reverse Grid race. Norman concluded his weekend with P31 in the final race.
