City Guide: Back in The Big Apple

Discover New York City as Formula E returns to The Big Apple…

The City That Never Sleeps

The Big Apple and the Capital of the World are both nicknames for The City That Never Sleeps and off the back of a victory in Puebla, ROKiT Venturi Racing makes a return to New York City for the first time since Season 5.

As a melting pot of culture, art and entertainment, New York is one of the most famous cities in the world and has become a top racing destination for fan and team alike in Formula E.

Starting out as New Amsterdam in 1624, the city has changed not only in name since its creation and 1 in every 38 residents of the United States live in New York.

That is, in part, to its population of 8.5million which makes it the biggest city in the United States and also the 11th largest city in the world.

It is the home of the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and the first purpose-built road designed for cars, but this weekend, it becomes our home here at ROKiT Venturi Racing.

Welcome to Red Hook

As one of five boroughs in New York City, Brooklyn and more specifically its Red Hook district, will be our arena of competition as we turn its streets into a race track.

We’ll be electrifying its 2.6million residents with heart-pumping, high-octane, fully electric, wheel-to-wheel racing as we capture the attention of New York’s most highly populated area.

The first teddy bear may have been created in Brooklyn in 1902, but when we take to the track on Saturday and Sunday, it may get grizzly as we fight for the top spot.

Concrete Jungle Where Dreams Are Made Of

Formula E first visited New York City in 2017 and here at ROKiT Venturi Racing, we’ve been vying to be at the top of the heap since the start.

In our first visit to the Brooklyn Street Circuit, we left with the lap record – a piece of history that will stand forever as the former configuration of the ever-popular track.

With a best finish of P4 and a total points tally of 22, we’re gunning to beat our previous personal bests in the impending double-header this weekend.

Birthday Boy

Amidst the preparation for the sixth race weekend of the season, on Thursday, we’ll pause to celebrate one of our favourite team members – Norman Nato, who turns 29 this week.

As our former Reserve Driver, and now Edo's team mate we’ve known Norman for a long time and we’ve watched him grow in experience throughout his fully-electric career to date.

Happy birthday, Nono!
