When Felipe Massa joined forces with ROKiT Venturi Racing on May 15, 2018, the Monegasque marque was an entirely different outfit.
With electro-mobility pioneer and Venturi President, Gildo Pastor at the helm, we held a bright vision for the future, and with these first steps, we entered our exciting next chapter.
Fast forward two seasons and Felipe has been an integral cog in our operation and through 24 races in 12 cities and five continents, he has etched his name into our story.
The final leg of the six-part Berlin E-Prix marked Felipe’s final race in our fold and as we celebrate our time together, we reflect on our favourite Felipe Formula E moments.
An air of popularity follows every high-profile athlete wherever they go, but when pairing the first name of ‘Felipe’ with the surname of ‘Massa’, a certain kind of energy is created.
From our first race in Riyadh, Felipe’s popularity was hard to ignore, and as we travelled the globe together, the chants of “Massa! Massa! Massa!” became second-nature.
Ahead of his debut in Saudi Arabia, Felipe competed in the first true race of Season 5 when Formula E pitted the Brazilian against the world’s fastest animal.
The highly decorated former F1 racer faced off against the Peregrine Falcon in a daring drag race 90-kilometers South-West of Ad Diriyah.
This duel in the desert presented a lot of unknowns but when man and machine united in competition against nature, it was a hard-fought battle.
When our hunter became the hunted, Felipe was at the centre of perhaps Formula E’s most iconic race and by taking victory, showcased the sustainable technology of tomorrow.
Throughout his time in Formula E, Felipe’s qualifying form has been fine and since 2018, the Brazilian has impressed with his one-lap pace.
Boasting five Super Pole appearances, Felipe has been a regular face in the final fight for the top spot on the grid and such consistency has often been envied.
From his third-placed performance in Mexico City to his final top-six spot in Berlin – all in a car that was often not the fastest – Felipe’s 250kW ability was duly noted.
The moment that will be synonymous with Felipe’s time at ROKiT Venturi Racing is his maiden podium performance in which the Brazilian took a nail-biting P3 in our most important race.
As Monaco’s only racing team, we take pride in our patriotism and with the Principality’s E-Prix standing as a biennial event, it isn’t often that we get to race at home.
From fourth on the grid, Felipe fought forward to secure what was one of our most unforgettable race results, taking home silverware for the third time in Season 5.
When spraying champagne from one of motorsport’s most iconic podiums, Felipe painted every face as a picture of pride with raw emotion all around, creating a memory that will be hard to forget.
