With Season 7 marking a historic campaign for Formula E, it was only natural that the series’ first race as an FIA World Championship also made history.
In Diriyah, we raced at night for the very first time, and under the lights of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Edoardo Mortara ensured that we would shine in the season opener.
From P4 on the grid, Edo showcased just what he is capable of and in a fighting drive, surged forward and battled his way to the front.
Moving into the top three with a breathtaking double overtake, Edo commenced the season in style by standing on the second step of the podium, netting P2 and 18 points to set the tone for our season.
Facing a gap between the Diriyah and Rome E-Prix, we swapped the race track for the digital world of competition as we took to the Esports arena in Formula E: Accelerate.
With Erhan Jajovski and Lorenz Hoerzing behind the wheel – and Edo and Norman also making guest appearances – we showcased a fighting drive and had a formidable lineup.
Bagging four wins and six podiums in only eight races, we claimed the top honours after fending off Dragon Penske Autosport and BMW i Andretti in the title fight.

When we visited Puebla for the first time amid our Pride Month celebrations, we were competing with purpose and on Saturday, we secured our second helping of silverware in Season 7.
After an impressive Super Pole performance, Edo was once again on a charge, and from P6 on the grid, quickly fought through the field to run inside the podium positions.
Scrapping with both Audi drivers, Edo snatched P3 at the flag and with it, a helping of 15 points, another trophy, and his second podium of the season.
Having shown pace one day earlier, Edo’s Mexican masterclass continued on Sunday in Race 2, and once again, the Swiss-Italian was clinical and calculating in his approach.
Leading 27 laps, Edo was dominant in his performance and took the chequered flag to launch himself to the top of the Drivers’ Championship.
When the title fight went down to the wire in Berlin, Edo ensured that he was in the right place at the right time on Saturday to remain firmly in the hunt for the World Championship crown.
From P4 on the grid, his full focus was on moving forward and with an intelligent use of Attack Mode, Edo moved to the very front of the field.
After falling behind Lucas di Grassi, Edo remained in hot pursuit and missed out on his second win of the season by only 0.141-seconds at the wave of the flag.
With this result, Edo bagged his fourth podium appearance of the season, his 20th top 10 finish for the team and his 200th point in Formula E.
After missing out on two podiums earlier in the season, poor luck was a continual plague for Norman, but when the Frenchman arrived in Berlin, it was his time for redemption.
From Group 4 in the final qualifying session of the year, Norman progressed to Super Pole for a fifth time but lined up on the grid in P6 after failing to complete a lap due to a connector fault.
When the race got underway, he was on a roll and from the third row, he fought his way up to the head of the field in a dominant and controlled performance.
Passing Alexander Sims, Oliver Rowland and Stoffel Vandoorne, Norman powered to a dominant maiden victory, ending the season on a high and cementing his place in the ROKiT Venturi Racing history books.
A staggering haul of 55 points from the Berlin finale capped off an incredible season of Formula E action, and leaving Tempelhof, we ensured that the campaign ended on a high.
Having amassed 92 points, Edo made history by becoming Formula E’s very first Vice-World Champion – a suitable honour for his most successful season to date.
A haul of 54 points for Norman, meanwhile, meant that the 29-year-old became our most successful rookie driver in history and not only that, he is now our third most successful driver of all time.
Ending the season with a combined total of 146 points, Season 7 was also our most successful in the history of Formula E, as we secured P7 in the Teams’ Championship.
This final tally beat our previous personal best from Season 5 by 54 points and also marks an increase of 222.7% compared to our total from Season 6.
Here at ROKiT Venturi Racing, we’re always looking to the future, and off the back of this success, we’re already aiming to better our performance with our sights set higher for Season 8.
