After recording our maiden Formula E podium during Season 1 in Moscow, our next top-three finish quickly followed as we flew to the United States in the 2015/16 campaign.
Building upon a five-race points-scoring streak, Stéphane Sarrazin showed his class in Long Beach - the sixth E-Prix of Season 2.
Narrowly missing out on what could have been Venturi’s second Formula E pole position, Stéphane eventually secured P3 on the grid with team-mate Mike Conway P15.
With a strong launch off the line, Stéphane maintained P3 over the first half of the race, remaining in touch with race leaders Sam Bird and Lucas di Grassi.
Pitting at the end of lap 21 to jump into his second car, Stéphane rejoined the race as the battle out front continued.
With pressure building, a tyre lock-up into Turn 5 cost Bird dearly, with the Virgin Racing driver taking to the escape road after running deep, allowing Stéphane to inherit P2.
Showcasing the Venturi car’s efficiency, Stéphane mounted a late challenge on race leader di Grassi right up until the chequered flag waved, finishing as runner-up to record the team’s best result to that point!
Taking points in the four remaining races of the 2015/16 campaign, Stéphane ended Season 2 with a 100% points-scoring record – and remains as only one of two drivers in the history of the series to have achieved this feat today.
