Track Guide: Uncover the Brooklyn Street Circuit

The Brooklyn Street Circuit is located in the borough’s Red Hook district and has earned renowned reputation since its first calendar appearance in 2017. While delivering the perfect lap can be daunting, discover the fastest route around this 2.230 kilometre stomping ground in our New York City E-Prix track guide.

A lap in Brooklyn begins just before the start/finish line and drivers must attack the tricky Turn 14 – the final corner of the lap – to maximise speed on the approach to Turn One.

The first corner is a key overtaking opportunity and a confident step on the brakes is required just before the 100-meter board to slow adequately for the left-hand hairpin.

After picking up the throttle, the double right sequence of Turns Two and Three are taken as one corner, while another right-hander in Turn Four lies on exit.

Turn Five is taken flat and leads to the longest straight of the lap. Getting on the power as early as possible is critical to minimise time loss.

At the end of the straight sits Turn Six – another key overtaking opportunity that demands conviction under braking before opening immediately into Turn Seven.

Drivers must reduce the radius of this never-ending right-hand hairpin by hugging the inside before again accelerating onto another long straight.

With the final third of the lap fast approaching, Turn Nine is another heavy braking zone and leads to the tightest corner of the lap,Turn 10, which is often a hive of activity on race day.

A short straight then leads to the right-hand Turn 11, with Turns 12 and 13 forming a medium-speed left-right chicane.

Turn 14 is the final corner of the lap and also the most treacherous. As a high-speed left-hander, and with the timing line lying immediately on exit, this corner is not for the faint hearted.

Picking out the optimum line, feathering the throttle and using every inch of available road is the fastest route to the finish. That completes a relentless run around Brooklyn.
